BMW has announced that the 2025 BMW M5, the seventh generation of its flagship sports sedan, will be equipped with an advanced hybrid drive system. The combination of a high-revving V8 engine and an electric motor will produce a pulse-pounding 717 hp and 738 lb-ft of torque. The new M5 will launch from 0-60 mph in just 3.4 seconds and have a top speed of 190 mph with the optional M Driver's Package. Additionally, the car will have a fully electric, zero-emissions range of approximately 25 miles.
The combination of combustion engine and electric motor in the new BMW M5 is closely related to the drive system in the BMW M Hybrid V8 endurance racing car, the company says. The intelligently controlled interaction between the engine and the electric motor, the power transfer, and the chassis technology tuned perfectly to the performance characteristics provide the latest example of how to improve the driving experience on the road using established Motorsport expertise.
The 2025 BMW M5 will launch worldwide by the end of the year. To inquire about one, speak with your Isringhausen BMW client advisor today.
