We are very excited to offer this truly amazing 1973 Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7, the icon that started the RS moniker meaning Racing Sport. This exceptional car was taken in 2004 to The Porsche Classic Department, with its workshop at the Porsche factory Werk 1 in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen where the car was originally born in 1973. The Senior craftsman at Werk 1 dismantled the entire car and painstakingly examined every part where every part is intricately examined, cleaned, repaired, or replaced with a factory approved part . It was then completely rebuilt to as new condition. The original numbers matching engine and gearbox were also rebuilt to as new factory specifications maintaining the original blocks and casings. Finished in White with red wheels and script, this RS was put back to exact original specifications as it was delivered new. Exhaustive documentation is available including hundreds of pictures, a Porsche press release, letter from Classic Center to the owner, certification plaque in the trunk and a commemorative Luxemburg postal stamp. A complete history from 1973, through it's restoration until today can be provided. After completion in 2006 the owner retrieved the car and drove it a mere 2563 miles in 18 years. The very particular gentleman engineer who commissioned this work is the single owner of the car since restoration up to our acquisition in early June of 2024. The car is now on our showroom floor. Included in our picture set are articles from Christopherous and Porsche Club magazines which provide insight about this rare undertaking and the very passionate owner from Luxemburg. We believe this is the only Carrera RS that has ever had a complete restoration by the Porsche Classic Center in Stuttgart and we could not be more excited to share this one of a kind opportunity with the next Porsche fanatic.
